Hibiscus 🌺 , known as ‘Jaswand’ in Ayurvedic texts, is celebrated for its ability to balance the Pitta dosha, owing to its cooling properties.

The flower and leaves of hibiscus are rich in vitamin C and boast anti-inflammatory and mild diuretic properties. They are commonly used in hair care formulations to promote lustrous tresses and prevent premature graying.

The vibrant petals of hibiscus also make a tart and soothing tea that is believed to support heart health, enhance digestion, and calm the nervous system.

Moreover, the antioxidant compounds found in hibiscus can aid in neutralizing free radicals, making its inclusion beneficial for overall vitality and aging gracefully, regardless of your dosha.

Hibiscus is not only pivotal in harmonizing 🔥 Pitta dosha, but its intrinsic qualities also cater to balancing Kapha. Its dryness and lightness counteract the heavy and oily nature of Kapha, helping to prevent congestion and stimulate metabolism.

Because of the warming spices used in this recipe (cinnamon, cloves, and fresh ginger🫚) this is a breakfast that can also be suitable for Vata.

Coffee, if prepared appropriately, has the ability to be enjoyed in moderation by all the doshas.

Also when consumed mindfully.

For Vata individuals, characterized by light, dry, and cold qualities, a warm and nourishing spiced latte with grounding herbs like cardamom can stabilize their ever-mobile nature.

Pitta types, with inherent heat and intensity, may benefit from a cooling iced coffee with a splash of organic soy milk to soothe their fiery disposition. 

Kapha individuals, who tend towards heavy and slow qualities, could find a gently brewed black coffee with a touch of honey invigorating without increasing sluggishness.

When differentiating your coffee choice to balance each dosha, consider these tips:

⋒ Vata: Opt for warm, creamy, and sweetened coffees. Avoid too much caffeine, which can increase Vata’s tendency towards anxiety and restlessness.
