Hello Goddess!
I am Monica. Your humble Ayurveda teacher. I am a woman devoted to guiding you back to harmony within your body and mind โก
There was a time, many, many years ago, when I looked at myself in the mirror and couldn’t recognize my body, my face, or my eyes anymore.
Seeing how my body was deteriorating in real time made me feel helpless, frustrated, and bitter. A victim of uncontrollable circumstances.
At that juncture, I failed to see the undeniable rock-solid connection between my hectic lifestyle, rushed meals, strenuous workouts, and the harsh self-judgment I subjected myself to (more like self-hate). I continued navigating life as I had known. Totally disconnected from my heart and detached from my intuition.
It took reaching my lowest point, facing a liver disease diagnosis, and battling severe facial acne, to finally open my eyes and realize that I had more power to improve my situation than I could have ever imagined.
I just needed to take the decision to start changing my life and believe in myself.
Through a series of events, I discovered healing in Ayurveda, embraced intuitive workouts for the first time, and cultivated a daily mindful presence.
My purpose (my dharma) evolved into deepening my knowledge, sharing my journey, and creating tools, likeย Prana app, to empower women โย just like you and meย โ to reconnect with their bodies, reignite their inner strength, and tap into their intuition.
We are not victims. We are goddesses capable of living healthy, balanced, inspiring lives.

You’re likely here, exploring my page, because deep down you recognize a profound truth:ย Leading a vibrant, fulfilling existence isn’t just a possibility; it’s your innate right.
Yet, you probably don’t know how to start or make a new lifestyle work for you. You might feel confused, overwhelmed, and anxious.ย I know the feeling.
Well, I am here to help you.
With Prana, the #1 Ayurveda app, I will:
Provide you with nutrient-dense menus, for your body type, soย you can start eating in alignment with your dosha.
Create workouts tailored for your constitution, soย you can achieve your fitness goals without depleting yourself in the process.
Offer lifestyle guidance as a complement to your nutrition and movement plans to ensureย you adopt routines and rituals that promote balance and wellness.
My passion for teaching and cooking

The heart of a teacher has always beat within me ever since I was a little girl.
From helping my brothers with their homework, or my classmates with difficult lessons, to formal, elementary classrooms, where I was a teacher and coach; to Ayurveda.
Teaching has always been my calling, and I’m profoundly grateful for the opportunity to embrace it daily ๐
Plus, I have always felt passionate about cooking! As I grew older, this passion only intensified. Cooking has become my expression ofย love,ย creativity, andย curiosity.
Ayurvedify your life by coming closer to Mother Earth.
My Ayurveda and wellness credentials?
I earned my certification as anย Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultantย from the American Institute of Vedic Studies. Additionally, I’ve undertaken studies with the department of Health and Wellness, atย Harvard University, and specialize in designing sustainable nutrition plans.
What sets Prana apart?
I believe the uniqueness of what I offer you through Prana app is the fusion of time-tested Ayurvedic principles with contemporary scientific insights.ย With over a decade of experience guiding clientsย one-on-one through my Ayurvedic consultations, I’ve been able to craft the essence of my expertise into Prana app โ a tool I once dreamed of during the initial stages of my health journey.
Back then, nothing like Prana app existed.
Today, it’s not a dream anymore, but aย realized vision.
My teaching background has also honed my skills in communication, empathy, and understanding. As a teacher, I learned that every individual is unique, each with their learning curves, strengths, and areas of growth.
Translating this to the realm of Ayurveda and well-being, I realized the importance of personalizing health regimens. What works for one woman may not work for another, andย this individual-centric approach is fundamental to Ayurveda.
I’m eagerly awaiting the opportunity to introduce you to our carefully curated space, designed with love, determination, and enthusiasm toย guide and support you every step of the way.
You are a valuable, beautiful, full-of-life, irreplaceable human being. I appreciate you and promise to always serve you authentically and sincerely.
MY PROMISE
Whether you’re using Prana app or delving into the wealth of free content I offer, my unwavering commitment remains the same โ to be by your side, supporting your wellness journey.
It’s my mission to empower you with invaluable tools that unlock your inner wisdom, bolster your self-belief, and enable you to transform detrimental habits.

You have started living an Ayurvedic life and noticed how much it is helping you already.
You are in love with how it feels โฅ
Physically, mentally, and emotionally.
And now you want your partner, children, or friends to get to know Ayurveda and apply it into their lives too.
The question is:
These are some ideas that have worked with my husband and a couple of close friends.
โ
First, identify their perceived barriers. These are unique and come from their psychological characteristics, their personality.
Learning about these imaginary or very real obstacles can help you better support them in detecting their perceived benefits and boost their health motivation.
Second, the more you know about Ayurveda, the better.
For instance, you could intrigue them with the DOSHA quiz.
Itโs always interesting to know our body-mind type. From there, you can explain the most basic principles that align with their type.
Third. It is so easy to fall in the trap of seeing Ayurveda as a static dogma.
BUT:
the restrictive mentality (e.g you choose to never eat foods that are โprohibitedโ for your dosha OR you only eat freshly made meals even when itโs making your life more stressful) makes this lifestyle more rigid and less inspiring to others.
Instead โฃ see Ayurveda as a constant vibrational flow that can change based upon different conditions.
Like the state of your heart โค๏ธ, the weather, and the intensity in which the lord of fire ๐ฅ is governing your digestion.
I believe when people see we live lives that are easy to adapt to the circumstances they can also see themselves doing the same thing.
Finally, do it with them!
Go grocery shopping and cook their first kitchari together.
Maybe evenโฆ
do a brief detox at the same time, supporting each other (a one-day cleanse can be a great start and enough reset for someone who has never done something like it before).
These strategies can help, but above all use YOUR intuition and your knowledge of who they are to motivate them.

Thankful and healthy โค๏ธ
Gratitude cultivation has been at the core of my meditation practice. Itโs not always easy. But when you do focus on the good, goodness starts overflowing your life. Iโm trying to be more open and receptive to it. Also more mindful of my internal talk so it doesnโt turn negative even in challenging circumstances.
The most important thing for me is that gratitude is a consistent element I want to focus on rather than making it just about one day.

The words we use to speak to ourselves can have a huge impact on our health.
If youโre constantly putting yourself down, calling yourself names and judging yourself, itโs only a matter of time until you fully embody those negative traits. Moreover, your cells hear you too and they will eventually believe what you are saying and thinking.
Self-love is at the core of healing. Not only will it propel you to take the first step to start living a more intuitive life, but it will help you build resilience and courage.
Sometimes, we can start this process by activating our heart chakra, practicing loving affirmations, spending more time in nature, and being more discriminating towards hateful perceptions.
Some affirmations I โค๏ธ are:
โ I celebrate the love in my life. I celebrate the love that I give. And I celebrate the love that is given to me.
โ I am worthy of love just for being who I am.
โ May the light within me shine through.
โ I am. I can. I will.

What nourishes the heart, nourishes the brain โก ๐ง ๐ฟ
The link between our heart and brain is profound and interconnected, with each influencing the other`s health and well-being.
In Ayurveda, we believe that our senses are the gateways to our heart and mind.
What we see, hear, touch, taste, and smell can deeply affect our emotional and mental states.
These sensory inputs feed our hearts and minds, shaping our thoughts, feelings, and overall health.
Consider the beauty of a sunset, the sound of soothing music, the touch of a loved one, the taste of wholesome food, or the aroma of fresh flowers.

Nourishing your heart โค๏ธ isn`t just about eating heart-healthy foods. It`s also about mindful living and mindful perception.
It`s about consciously choosing to surround ourselves with positive, inspiring, and soothing sensory experiences that nourish both our hearts and minds.
Today, let`s be mindful of what we expose our senses to.
Let`s choose to take in what uplifts us, calms us, and brings us joy ๐ท

๐ฟ Aromatherapy and Doshas: Fragrant Pathways to Balance ๐ฟ
Did you know that aromatherapy, using essential oils, can help balance your Ayurvedic doshas - Vata, Pitta, and Kapha? ๐ธโจ
Our sense of smell is closely linked to our emotions, and specific scents can trigger various emotional responses.
For example, lavender and chamomile can help decrease anxiety levels, while rosemary can stimulate hunger and pleasant memories. ๐น๐ฟ
In Ayurveda, each person has a unique balance of doshas, which govern physical and emotional health.
Aromatherapy can help maintain this balance. For Vata, grounding scents like orange, rose, and geranium work well. Cooling scents like sandalwood, mint, and rose can soothe Pitta. And for Kapha, invigorating scents like eucalyptus, rosemary, and clove can uplift energies. ๐ฌ๏ธ๐ฅ๐ฟ
Before using essential oils, itโs important to remember that they are potent and should be used with care.
To help you get started, here are some simple diffuser blends to balance your doshas:
๊ค๐ฉ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ Soothing Blend: 3 drops orange, 2 drops rose, 1 drop geranium
โผ ๐ฃ๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ Calming Blend: 3 drops sandalwood, 2 drops mint, 1 drop rose
โพ๐๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ต๐ฎ Stimulating Blend: 3 drops eucalyptus, 2 drops rosemary, 1 drop clove
Remember, these blends are just suggestions - feel free to experiment and find what works best for you!
Aromatherapy offers a fragrant pathway to balance doshas and harmonize emotions.
By understanding the unique properties of different aromas, we can create a personalized toolkit of essential oils to support our well-being. โจ

Your healing process (of body and mind) can look messy and at times too overwhelming to withstand ๐ชท
It may even appear more tempting to yieldโ again, and again, โ to the bad habits (which might include going back to poisonous relationships).
A relief mirage because even though they are unhealthy, they are also familiar.
We know how they feel.
Uncertainty is removed from the equation.
We may believe we have regained control, yet it is but a deceptive illusion.
You must go through the hard times and keep going to see the light.
And part of it involves believing in your own light to battle the dark.
To talk yourself out of bad choices, whatever they might be, and choose self-love again and again.

Healthy living might look different from day to day, but specially from season to season ๐๐๐
Colder weather is associated with more Vata. I know I can feel it already in my skin and my emotions.
At this time, our body seeks naturally warmth and deeper nourishment. Meaning, green juices, aรงaรญ bowls, avocado toasts, or raw salads might not be the best choice.
Instead, try consuming warm, well-cooked, well-spiced foods. They are not only hearty and warming but also easier to digest.
Additionally, Ayurveda encourages regular, BUT gentler exercise to keep our body warm and circulation flowing PLUS our hormones nice and balanced ๐
So, as the weather cools, remember to adjust your practices to soothe and stabilize Vata, maintaining equilibrium in your body.

This is how I make sure I keep my balance.
1. Reflect on the meaning of Halloween. The Celtics used to celebrate it to ward off ghosts and welcome their new year on November 1st. But, what does it mean to you? For me personally, I take it as a transition for the last few weeks of the year. Tomorrow is the first day of a new month, a white canvas, and I want to feel great tomorrow. I believe seeing the BIGGER picture can help us take better decisions.
2. I like sweets and chocolate. But not the processed ones. I prefer to prepare my own at home. That way I can control the type of sugars and oils I use. I know for a fact that high-fructose corn syrup, corn sweetener, and seed oils increase my inflammation. Prana app has many yummy and healthy recipes to get you inspired tonight.
3. Share sweetness in other forms. Be different. Share with kids a healthy treat wrapped in a nice note or positive affirmation.
4. Stay hydrated to avoid cravings. Drink plenty of water and warm ginger tea throughout the day.
5. Enjoy Halloween treats in moderation. Just like grocery shopping, don`t go trick-or-treating or to Halloween parties on an empty stomach. Warm up with a delicious soup or stew beforehand.
6. Practice Abhyanga. This self-massage with warm oil is an excellent Ayurvedic ritual to incorporate tonight and a nice treat to look forward to.
7. Donate excess candy to a homeless shelter, childrenโs hospital, or care package program for troops overseas.
BTW. This is how Halloween in Florida looks like. Itโs 81 degrees today ๐

Lately, this has been my drink of choice before going to sleep ๐๐ชป
I first became attracted to this beautiful vibrant blue flowers when I saw them in my local green market. I had the powder already but the plant was so captivating I took it home with me.
So, this simple tea is helping me manage my stress levels (we are about to release a brand-new website for Prana!!) and sleep like a baby.
When I drink this at nights I actually feel like I am beautifying my body from the inside out.
Do earthing, yet light.

The entire world is feeling a dark, sticky, and invasive energy.
Itโs in times like this that grounding by connecting with nature is imperative to heal the heart and cultivate compassion towards others.
They are us.
We are them.
Return to Goddess Nature when the weight seems too heavy to carry.
When you feel dissociated from the rest of humanity.
Or when you must remember the truth.

Letโs take a moment to acknowledge the power of gratitude ๐ธ๐ชท๐ชป
The act of being thankful has profound effects not merely on our minds, but also our bodies. ๐โจ
In Ayurveda, a positive mindset is known to generate โOjasโ, which is the essence of our vitality and immunity. Itโs akin to the radiant glow that shines from within when we are at our healthiest.
Like the food we consume, our emotions and thoughts deeply influence this glow.
The practice of gratitude, therefore, can elevate our Prana, or life force, and enhance our Ojas, leading to radiant beauty that truly reflects our inner health. ๐ฟ๐ซ
This weekend take a moment to express gratitude for the nourishment it provides.
Notice how this simple act transforms your day.
