I am Monica. Your humble Ayurveda teacher. I am a woman devoted to guiding you back to harmony within your body and mind ♡

There was a time, many, many years ago, when I looked at myself in the mirror and couldn’t recognize my body, my face, or my eyes anymore.

Seeing how my body was deteriorating in real time made me feel helpless, frustrated, and bitter. A victim of uncontrollable circumstances.

At that juncture, I failed to see the undeniable rock-solid connection between my hectic lifestyle, rushed meals, strenuous workouts, and the harsh self-judgment I subjected myself to (more like self-hate). I continued navigating life as I had known. Totally disconnected from my heart and detached from my intuition.

It took reaching my lowest point, facing a liver disease diagnosis, and battling severe facial acne, to finally open my eyes and realize that I had more power to improve my situation than I could have ever imagined.

I just needed to take the decision to start changing my life and believe in myself.

Through a series of events, I discovered healing in Ayurveda, embraced intuitive workouts for the first time, and cultivated a daily mindful presence.

My purpose (my dharma) evolved into deepening my knowledge, sharing my journey, and creating tools, like Prana app, to empower women — just like you and me — to reconnect with their bodies, reignite their inner strength, and tap into their intuition.

We are not victims. We are goddesses capable of living healthy, balanced, inspiring lives.

My passion for teaching and cooking

The heart of a teacher has always beat within me ever since I was a little girl.

From helping my brothers with their homework, or my classmates with difficult lessons, to formal, elementary classrooms, where I was a teacher and coach; to Ayurveda.

Teaching has always been my calling, and I’m profoundly grateful for the opportunity to embrace it daily 🙂

Plus, I have always felt passionate about cooking! As I grew older, this passion only intensified. Cooking has become my expression of lovecreativity, and curiosity.

My Ayurveda and wellness credentials?

  1. I earned my professional certification as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant from the American Institute of Vedic Studies.
  2. I have engaged in extensive academic studies with the Health and Wellness Department at Harvard University, and specialize in designing sustainable nutrition plans.
  3. I have successfully completed extensive training to earn professional certification as a fitness trainer. The training covered anatomy, nutrition, exercise science, biomechanics, and training techniques by the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA).

On Earth Day🌳, I want to pay a special tribute to nature, from where we came and where our bodies one day will return. Just the meditative noise of nature and our entire presence and intention focused on that moment, that feeling, that vibration. I am washing my hands and symbolically I am letting this healing stream take my worries and fears away. I feel refreshed and ready to start a NEW🌷 chapter that is perfectly synchronizing with the upcoming new moon🌑. Good things are always coming our way if we believe it💝

There are many challenges we encounter when changing our lifestyle.

One of them involves losing friends or relationships that do not feel aligned with our new habits. Maybe they’re used to the old you and don’t know how to relate to the new and improved you. Or, maybe they feel like they’re being judged for not making similar changes in their own lives.

Besides being compassionate and accepting that everyone has a different journey and that we shouldn’t impose our choices over others or offer unsolicited advice, it’s important to surround yourself with people that support you.

Feeling extremely bloated 🩸

Today is my second day (For my first day I did a light yoga session) and I did a modified workout from my @prana_app plan. Less weight and more rest. Not all exercises.

This is what I suggest to my Prana Premium Members✨: even though you have a well structured fitness plan, what’s most important is that you ADAPT it to your body as you feel is best.

The goal is not to complete every single workout but to adjust them to what your body needs🫶🏽
A few years ago, I had no morning routine. There was no meditation or deep breathing practice. No journaling, no intention setting. Even when I was going to the gym, my mornings usually felt rushed and  chaotic.

But as I started to incorporate simple Ayurvedic practices into my mornings, I noticed a significant difference in how I felt throughout the day. My energy levels were more stable, my mind was clearer and more focused, and I was able to handle stress and challenges with greater ease.

I also realized that having a structured morning routine helped me to feel more grounded. I am Vata dosha (if you don’t know your doshic blueprint take my quiz on Prana app📲) and I have a hard time with change and instability.

So, knowing I can rely on established foundation each morning is just  what I need to start my day off on the right foot and feel at ease.

At the start, if you’re not used to it, try carving out 10 minutes just for yourself before everyone else at home is up. It can really make a difference. Begin those 10 minutes focusing on something like deep breathing. And build from there.

Adding more weight as I advance on my Strong & Fit program and I’m really feeling stronger.

Here:

Romanian deadlifts x 12 reps

Barbell squats x 12 reps

Hip trusts x 10 reps (I’m using this machine today but I honestly feel more comfortable with a bench and barbell or dumbbell)

Dumbbell Thrusters X 12 reps

Repeat all 2-4 sets.

Then, do a grounding set to stretch and come back to your center 🧘🏻‍♀️🙏🏻
