Sweet beet oatmeal 🌷
Beet is one of our favorite ingredients to incorporate into our diet during our menstrual cycle🩸
Beets have a rich nutritional profile of nitrates, iron, and folic acid, amongst other nutrients.
Most significantly, beetroot contains the highly active biocompounds called betalains and betaine that are hailed for their health-boosting properties.
Here are four ways beets can help during menstruation to promote more regular, healthy, and painless periods:
1. Beetroot is high in beta-carotene and antioxidants, which assist to increase the flow of oxygenated blood to the uterus, which reduces inflammation and relieves the discomfort and severity of menstrual cramps.
2. Beetroots help enhance and maintain healthy liver functions, aiding in hormonal balance within your body. This, in turn, can naturally promote menstrual regularity.
3. We tend to lose 3-24 milligrams of iron every menstrual cycle and consuming beetroot during this time of the month can help replenish our body’s low iron count.
4. During our period some of us might experience acne. The combination of folate, Vitamin C, Potassium, and antioxidants present in beets clears the skin by getting rid of acne, and pigmentation, delaying aging and then reducing dullness.

𝗔𝗯𝗵𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮🌿— a beautiful Ayurvedic practice that can help us stay balanced during this season🍁
Abhyanga, or self-massage with warm oil, is more than just a routine.
It`s a ritual of self-love and care that nourishes the body, calms the mind, and soothes the spirit.
Especially in fall, when Vata dosha tends to increase, Abhyanga can be your secret weapon to combat dry skin, restlessness, and feelings of instability that often come with the season🍂
Imagine starting your day by massaging your body with warm oil, feeling every muscle relax and the stress melt away.
Not only does it moisturize your skin, but it also stimulates circulation, revitalizes your energy, and creates a gentle shield of protection against the elements of the season.

Whether it is pronounced self-criticism, constant negative talk (we`ve all been there!), or being unable to speak our truth, set boundaries, and express our expectations clearly, it is important to recognize these obstacles and work towards overcoming them.
One way to find harmony is to pay attention to your throat chakra.
Now, various factors can disturb 𝘝𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘶𝘥𝘥𝘩𝘢.
Excessive stress, suppressing your emotions, lack of self-expression.
OR being in an environment where open communication is NOT encouraged or where your voice is constantly stifled…
Well.
They can all affect your energy flow.
And ultimately make you 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 feeling misunderstood, which can impact every aspect of your life (romance🌹, profession, friendships).
However, the most vulnerable area that can be harmed is the connection with your inner self.
Physically, the imbalance can also be felt.
Persistent sore throat, frequent headaches, dental issues, mouth ulcers, hoarseness, thyroid problems, and laryngitis.
When you experience these symptoms, 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘭-𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩.
One that takes care of what can be seen, like the foods you eat to alleviate the fear and anxiety of an aggravated Vata dosha.
But also, (𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘦) the energetic qualities behind those specific signs.
Ayurveda offers profound wisdom here.
🌀 Certain yoga poses like inversions can release tension, energize the throat area, and help us let our words flow like a river.
🌀 Wearing or eating the color blue 🫐, associated with the Throat Chakra, can also seem simplistic, but are effective ways to attract equilibrium.
🌀 Chanting the seed mantra `𝘏𝘢𝘮` is also a powerful way to balance Vata and subsequently, the Throat Chakra.
🌀 Repeating strategic affirmations like the ones in this post.

🍂🫚We find ourselves in a season defined by movement, lightness, and dryness🍁✨
To balance these qualities and stabilize the unpredictable nature of Vata, we can turn to Chyavanprash.
With its beautiful blend of sweet, sour, and mildly spicy flavors, as well as its warming energy, Chyavanprash serves as a grounding force. It counteracts the prevailing characteristics of the season, providing stability and harmony.
In the fall, Ayurveda encourages us to harmonize our bodily rhythms with the rhythms of nature. This means balancing our diet and lifestyle to build up our Ojas, the essence that upholds life and promotes health, immunity, and happiness according to Ayurvedic philosophy.
Nourishing foods, proper sleep, and mindful practices like yoga and meditation are key to rejuvenating the body and mind, helping us maintain vitality and radiant beauty. By nurturing our Ojas, we fortify our Prana, or life force, bracing ourselves against the brisk winds of fall and preparing to greet the winter season with robust health and a serene mind.

🍁🍂 As the leaves start to turn and fall gently to the ground, we too must learn to ground ourselves in this season of change.
This is the perfect time to reconnect with our roots, to slow down, and to nourish our bodies and souls in preparation for the colder months ahead. 🌳🌰
One of the best ways to do this?
Start your day with a warm, grounding breakfast! Like this 𝗚𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 & 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗙𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗢𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗹 ✨
In Ayurveda, the food we eat is more than just fuel. It`s a form of self-care, a way to honor our bodies, and a means to align ourselves with the natural rhythms of the universe.
As temperatures drop, our bodies naturally crave warm, comforting foods. Foods that not only satiate our hunger but also ignite that inner warmth, balance our doshas, and keep us grounded.
Think hearty oatmeal topped with seasonal fruits, warm spices, and a drizzle of honey, or a savory bowl of quinoa and veggies cooked with love and intention. 🍯🍎🌾
Remember, Prana app offers customized Ayurvedic meal plans tailored to your body type and dietary preferences. We believe in keeping you engaged and inspired with new, delicious, and healthy recipes every week, prepared using Ayurvedic principles. 📲🌿

🍎 Cooked apples: a nourishing and wholesome breakfast all year round 🍂
Just adding warm spices like ginger 🫚 cinnamon and cardamom, a splash of rose water🌷 (if you’re feeling Pitta aggravated), and cooking them on low heat can adapt this versatile breakfast to Autumn 🍁. The result? Tender apples that support your digestion and break down their fibrous structure. It’s a delicious way to start your day!
Adding to the benefits, cooked apples are also a powerhouse of antioxidants, which play a significant role in neutralizing harmful compounds in the body known as free radicals. These antioxidants, combined with the fiber in the apples, can help maintain a healthy gut microbiome, contributing to improved digestive health. They are also a good source of vitamin C, potassium, and other nutrients that support overall health.
