Caramelized fig oatmeal: my new favorite.
Are you struggling with eating your morning oatmeal?
I know. I’ve been there. It can get boring.
But, with just a little of creativity — and figs —, we can turn a bland oatmeal bowl into a magic breakfast recipe (that is secretly a cooling and grounding dessert!)

Ayurveda and figs
Believe it or not, I first tried figs during a trip we did to Morocco in 2015.
And oh boy! Did I fall in love with their taste and texture.
So, whenever I get the chance of incorporating them into one of my recipes, I do it.
Figs are the ideal fruit for Pitta dosha (Learn more about Pitta dosha diet). Although they can also pacify Vata (This is the diet to pacify Vata dosha).
They are sweet and cooling, with a sweet post-digestive effect.
Figs are heavier to digest than other fruits, so if you are having agni issues, assess how you feel after eating it. Pitta doshas typically do good as their internal fire is often elevated.
Since they are a great iron source, they can help build the blood.
Moreover, figs are a good source of potassium, manganese and dietary fiber.
