I wish I had the fountain of youth secret, but aging is an inevitable process that affects us all. No matter our wealth or position, we all have the fate of becoming old. Our body, weather we want it or not, is subject to the pass of time and gravity. You already know that one of the most visible signs of growing older is the appearance of grey hair. The good news is that we can definitely delay a little bit their appearance with the proper nutrition and lifestyle choices. So, do this to prevent grey hair from showing up in the first place.

You wanna make sure you add to your diet foods that help you defend your cells from the harmful free radicals. Free radicals are basically molecules, created in a process called oxidation, that damage the cells of your body. So, they increase the rate at which you age. They also promote diseases like cancer, atherosclerosis, and Alzheimer’s.

Even though not all antioxidants act the same way, by eating those foods often you are helping your body stay younger for longer. Some of the foods with the highest amount of antioxidants are dark leafy greens, beans, berries, and some healthy fats like pecans, flax seeds, chia seeds, hemp seeds and walnuts. These are the best superfoods for your hair!

Chlorophyll is a great addition to your diet to prevent gray hair. It produces the amazing effect of increasing the melatonin levels in your body which aid in retaining the natural pigmentation of your hair. According to Ayurveda, the pigmentation of your hair color is directly related on the quality of your blood. By eating foods that contain Chlorophyll you are making sure your blood is being cleansed regularly AND your body receives an outstanding dose of antioxidants. These effects result in a color rich, healthy hair. My favorite sources of Chlorophyll are dark leafy greens, wheatgrass, cilantro, parsley, spirulina, and matcha tea.

Basically, don’t put anything on your hair that you wouldn’t eat. Regardless of how much money hair companies spend on marketing and how “healthy” their products are portrayed to the public, the reality is they often use harmful chemicals which impede hair growth, shine, and increase the speed and rate at which grey hairs appear. These products can alter the normal cell development of your hair and scalp, so I would suggest staying away from them.

I really recommend you treat your hair with natural and wholesome products. One of my favorite hair masks of all time is made with avocado and olive oil. I massage my scalp with it and boom! My hair has improved so much its condition since I ditched the lab-made articles.

Seriously do this to prevent gray hair. Massage your scalp with coconut oil right before you go to sleep. Apply it also to your hair, specially the ends. Do a bun and that’s it! I put a clean towel on my pillow to avoid any mess and sleep with it. Next day wash your hair with an organic shampoo. I do this once or twice a week to keep my hair shiny and vibrant.

These tips will help you improve the condition of your mane and avoid grey hair which in turn will make you look younger. Treat your hair with love and it will love you back!!!
