3. RIGHT COOKING
Take into account your body type and cook your meals accordingly. Often times, if you are suffering from bloating, it’s because you are Vata aggravated, therefore warm, well cooked foods are preferable than raw or cold meals.
4. USE HEALTHY OILS
On everything! Use my list of foods to guide you through which oils are best for your constitution and use those. Be mindful of the quantity but, try to always add a healthy fat to your meals.
5. ADD THE RIGHT SPICES
When bloated, the best spices to use are Vata pacifying. It is then good to use ginger, black pepper, hing, turmeric, and cummin.
6. DON’T DRINK COLD WATER!
This is a huge mistake people often make. Not only it affects your digestion but, will likely make you bloated. Try drinking warm or room temperature instead to keep your agni or digestive fire healthy.
7. AVOID OVEREATING
How to avoid bloating? Eat at maximum 70-75% of your capacity.
Also, being mindful of your first burp helps a lot. That’s a clear sign your body sends to stop eating.
It is definitely best not to overeat. Ayurveda and Modern Science agree on this one. The MD Anderson Cancer Center shows in a study that overeating can cause various issues including discomfort, hormonal imbalances, heartburn, and -yes, you guessed it – bloating.
Hope this helps with the bloating!
