I have started adding chlorophyll to my water and some of my clients’ and I wanna share with you today why it is such a good idea.
Boosting your health with this amazing green substance has lots of benefits. Plus, it can’t get easier to prepare.
But, first of all, what is chlorophyll?
Chlorophyll is the pigment that gives plants their green color. It helps plants absorb energy and get their nutrients from sunlight during the biological process known as photosynthesis.
Chlorophyll is full of vitamins and minerals and has incredible health benefits not only for plants, but us humans too.
This is what drinking Chlorophyll does to your body:
It facilitates cell reparation and regeneration processes.
It also has anticancer effects as it blocks carcinogens within the body. Studies conducted in animals have shown chlorophyll’s potential as a cancer treatment. It prevents and slows cancer growth, for instance, it was shown that it helps reducing the risk of colon cancer, and slowing the progression of lung cancer.
One of the most important functions of chlorophyll is that it is anti-aging. Living an unhealthy life for years leads to the accumulation of toxins and oxidative stress, which can provoke premature aging. Drinking water, consistently, with chlorophyll can help repair the damage done by those toxins and free radicals and improve the condition of fine lines and wrinkles. The effects are very noticeable on the skin!
Your liver will thank you if you drink chlorophyll too. In particular, Pitta dosha often experiences liver issues that could be alleviated with chlorophyll. This superfood can help detoxify this important organ and promote a healthy metabolism in your body by facilitating detoxification and elimination of toxins, leading to a balanced weight over time.
Inflammation levels can also be reduced when drinking water with chlorophyll.
These are some other benefits:

- Better digestion
- Better elimination
- Reduction in inflammation
- Anti-aging benefits
- Yeast reduction in patients with Candida
- Increased energy
- Hormonal balance
- Fibromyalgia relief
- Weight loss
- Blood building properties
- Supports the immune system
How to prepare it?
To prepare it, you can mix about 12 grams of it ( liquid, tablet, or powder form) in 8 ounces of temperature water. I am currently using the powder and it is super easy to mix with just a spoon. The taste is bit nutty, which I like. (I wouldn’t drink, for example, spirulina by itself as it tastes very fishy)
Of course, you should accompany this superfood —or super water— with an adequate lifestyle for your constitution and a balanced, nutritious diet; but, sometimes, we need an extra help and a boost to feel and look better.
Other way to include chlorophyll in your diet is by eating green vegetables, like kale, wheatgrass, and spinach. Wheatgrass is my personal favorite as a drink! I add it religiously to my green juice every morning.
Let me know how you feel if you start drinking it too 🙂

Happy Healing!
